Creating a house with a character of its own: Annette and Clemens Lutzke from Sternhotel Bonn
Location, location, location – as famous hotelier Conrad Hilton used to say. The exposed position of Sternhotel at Bonn’s Market Square in direct proximity of Bonn University and Old Town Hall is quite unique in Bonn! The hotel’s amazing historic facade as well as a heritage-protected atrium are the visual landmarks of this site.
Clemens Lutzke has already seen a lot of the world. A training period at first-class hotel “Bristol”, Bonn, was followed by further jobs in the 5-star hotel industry and subsequent business administration studies with first steps into the world of big gastronomic events. Then Clemens Lutzke managed a deluxe hotel in Mombasa, Kenya – finally, he came back to Bonn and, after a gastronomic stopover at “Bundeskunsthalle” (Art and Exhibition Hall of the Federal Republic, Bonn), made come true his dream of an own hotel in 1997. At present, Clemens Lutzke enjoys – as a passionate host – the variety of every-day life as a hotelier, direct communication with most various people and, of course, his job at Sternhotel. The hotelier has already achieved his goal: creating a hotel with a strong character. His motto for the present and the future: recognize the signs of the times while relying on quality rather than quantity. During leisure time, Clemens Lutzke loves to see the world from above, sitting in an ultra-light aircraft. But also classic concerts and, of course, the time spent together with his family rank top among the hotelier’s preferences. Beyond that, he obviously enjoys the beauty of his home town Bonn – what’s waiting to be discovered? That’s what the hotelier reveals to us in his “Perfect Day”. Enjoy reading and trying out!
