Problems are a welcome challenge for Regina Gr\u00fcnewald, Director of the Baseler Hof Hotel Hamburg. After all, there is “more than one solution for every problem”, as the experienced hostess explains. She has been at the Baseler Hof Hotel for over 25 years. When the Hamburg native is not looking after the hotel, she prefers to be on the waterfront enjoying an Aperol Spritz. She is happy to tell us and her guests what her perfect day in Hamburg looks like. We hope you enjoy reading.<\/p>\n

The perfect day with Regina Gr\u00fcnewald<\/strong><\/p>\n

A sunday in Hamburg starts with breakfast in the “Hafencity”. <\/strong> A place where modernity and tradition meet. Here, the day starts with authentic Viennese charm in a cool coffee house atmosphere and the “best breakfast ever”, according to Ms. Gr\u00fcnewald. With homemade apricot and sour cherry jam, butter croissants and pastries de jour, beautifully arranged on \u00e9tag\u00e8res and of the best quality, even the husband goes into raptures. And then there’s the coffee… After a large or small brown coffee, a trip to the Burg Coffee Museum<\/strong> in the “Speicherstadt”<\/strong> is a must.<\/p>\n

Or would you prefer to go to “MiWuLa”<\/strong>?<\/p>\n

Travel from the jetties in Hamburg to North and South America in a short time by plane from Knuffingen Airport. Visit the famous train station in Riomaggiore. Be inspired by Gerrit and Freddy Braun’s model railroad layout. Today, the largest model railroad layout in the world<\/strong> offers ground-breaking experiences train after train!<\/p>\n

Or a detour to the Elbe?<\/p>\n

After the Miniaturwunderland, it’s worth heading towards the Elbe. Regina enjoys an Aperol Spritz at Pasta Pasta<\/strong> on Dalmannkai, before heading past the Elbphilharmonie concert hall on the flood protection route along the Elbe to the Landungsbr\u00fccken<\/strong>. The HADAG<\/strong> harbor ferries<\/strong> depart from here, a popular alternative to the classic harbor tours. Regina’s tip: Take ferry 62 towards Ovelg\u00f6nne<\/strong> and take a walk along the Elbe beach.<\/strong><\/p>\n

A classical concert at the end?<\/p>\n

From the Elbe, the route then heads back towards the city center.<\/strong> Planten un Blomen, a park that is over 200 years old, is located near Dammtor station. The WaterLightConcerts<\/strong> are traditionally held here in summer. This is the perfect end to a wonderful day in your own city. Regina recommends the Kleinhuis’ roof terrace<\/strong> to bridge the waiting time until the light shows begin or simply to enjoy a sundowner. From there you can enjoy a magnificent 360\u00b0 panoramic view<\/strong> of the Hanseatic city – from the Inner Alster, the Elphi and the harbor to the television tower.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
