Boutiques and Italian specialties in Salzburg<\/h2>\n

From breakfast to shopping: my suggestions for the morning<\/h3>\n

In my view, a perfect day in Salzburg starts with a stay at Caf\u00e9 Wernbacher. This caf\u00e9 excels by its relaxed atmosphere, in the proper style of a typical coffee house. The staff has always a smile on their lips, and the breakfast options range from \u201cWernbacher breakfast\u201d to Guglhupf and are actually all worth a try. Then I\u2019d suggest a shopping tour through Linzergasse. My very special tip: Boutique Via Venti. There one enjoys an excellent professional advice, sometimes by the owner himself, and has the certainty of having acquired an individual item. Each piece is just available once in its size!<\/p>\n

For a promenade, I recommend St. Sebastian Cemetery. This site is among my very favorite places for a rest in the midst of urban life. There are, among others, the tombs of Archbishop Wolf-Dietrich von Raitenau and Constanze Mozart, the famous composer\u2019s wife.<\/p>\n

Lunch at \u201cPasta e Vino\u201d<\/h3>\n

For lunch, the \u201cPasta e Vino\u201d at Wolf-Dietrich-Stra\u00dfe is a perfect place to be. The natives gather here for lunch: the restaurant offers both the best home-made pasta in the city and excellent Italian wines. The typical Italian extended family takes care of their guests who quickly become habitu\u00e9s after a first try. My tip: being hungry is compulsory since one shouldn\u2019t miss antipasti and desserts at \u201cPasta e Vino\u201d…<\/p>\n

Shopping with a coffee break: my program for the afternoon<\/h3>\n

Salzburg offers many great shops and boutiques satisfying even outrageous requirements. My very personal shopping suggestion: the Living Store at Kaigasse, on the other side of Salzach River. If you\u2019re looking for a nice wall decoration or a beautiful frame, also together with a suitable poster, will definitely strike it rich. The shop offers a particularly broad selection of great accessories and deco items. Beyond wall decoration, there are also a lot of very rare accessories: printed door mats and inventive items for the kitchen are ideal souvenirs.<\/p>\n

For your afternoon coffee, I recommend you \u201cCaf\u00e9 220 Grad\u201d. The best thing: If you\u2019re fond of their first-class coffee specialties, you can take away the respective coffee beans! My special tip is \u201cSelection 4\u201d, which is ideal for Espresso or Cappuccino.<\/p>\n

Dinner at the gates of the city<\/h3>\n

\u201cDaxlueg\u201d is not far outside the city, offers a great view in fair weather, and spoils its guests with traditional Austrian cuisine. You should select your table in one of the first rows of the garden \u2013 the more at the front, the better the view!<\/p>\n

Atmospheric epilogue: my tip for the evening<\/h3>\n

Back in the city, you should make a little postprandial walk along Linzergasse, passing by the \u201cDi Renzi\u201d. Here you can make a break and have a cozy nightcap, i.e. one or two glasses of wine.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
