Culinary delicacies in Salzburg’s old town<\/h2>\n

Round tour across Kaiviertel neighborhood \u2013 my inside tip for the morning<\/h3>\n

Kaiviertel is Salzburg\u2019s clandestine artists\u2019 district: full of zest for life, appreciative of art, and very charming \u2013 thus the perfect place for a morning stroll! Thanks to its numerous galleries, trendy boutiques, and atmospheric taverns with international theme cooking, Kaiviertel ranks among my favorite places in the city. I like to prepare for such a round tour at Caf\u00e9 F\u00fcrst. Here one enjoys genuine Salzburg atmosphere and calmly waits for the first sunrays shedding light on Residenzplatz square. One should of course not fail to try the famous Salzburger Mozartkugeln, a very particular specialty of the Caf\u00e9!<\/p>\n

Experiencing Austrian hospitality<\/h3>\n

B\u00e4renwirt Restaurant on M\u00fcllner H\u00fcgel aims at serving the city\u2019s best fried chicken \u2013 and succeeds in doing so, as far as I can see! Here you find first-class Austrian cuisine not stingy with quantity, far away from the turmoil of tourists and thus ideal for enjoying authentic hospitality. My personal suggestion is, as already said, fried chicken. Those fond of very hearty meals should opt for roast pork with a giant dumpling. By the way, should you still be hungry, despite the generous serving, just ask for a second serving \u2013 it will rarely be refused!<\/p>\n

Art and a view: my afternoon program<\/h3>\n

In the afternoon, you should absolutely aim high \u2013 be it by M\u00f6nchsberg elevator or afoot via the stairs at Toskaninihof, behind Festspielhaus. Arrived on top, enjoy the splendid view over Old Salzburg with a good coffee and an apple strudel on the terrace of Restaurant M32. My suggestion: Pay a subsequent visit to \u201cMuseum der Moderne\u201d to marvel at classic modernity and contemporary art!<\/p>\n

More<\/b> romanticism and bio-quality<\/b><\/h3>\n

Restaurant Zum Eulenspiegel at Hagenauerplatz, adjacent to Getreidegasse, is one of the romantic restaurants of our city. The small seating areas arranged on three floors offer many booths that constitute the ideal place for an unforgettable dinner, not for the enamored ones only. The cuisine wholly relies on fresh biological farm products processed into delicious creations such as goat ragout, sheep\u2019s milk yogurt, or veal tenderloin steak. Freshly caught fish from an own fish farm are also available there.<\/p>\n

The perfect place for a sundowner<\/b><\/h3>\n

For crowing the perfect day, I feel like going to Caf\u00e9 Bar Sezession, Kaiviertel. At this hideaway, one enjoys, beyond   rustic specialties, noble wines and delicious cocktails. The unique art nouveau atmosphere ensures the perfect ambiance for an unforgettable evening.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
