Welcome to Vienna’s oldest hotel: your host at Hotel Stefanie

Since 2025, I have had the joy and honor of leading Hotel Stefanie in the fifth generation—a place that has been truly special to me since my childhood. This is where I took my first steps, created countless memories, and developed a deep connection to this historic building with its more than 425-year history.

For Dr. Alexander Schick, it is a special privilege to serve as a host in the fifth generation and not only to preserve tradition, but to actively develop it further. Hotel Stefanie is intended to remain a place where Viennese history and modern joie de vivre meet.

For more than four centuries, Hotel Stefanie has stood for Viennese hospitality. Since the year 1600, it has welcomed guests from around the world, forming the foundation of the Schick Hotels, which today are run by the Schick family in the fifth generation.

Since 2025, Dr. Alexander Schick has been managing Hotel Stefanie. Familiar with the hospitality industry from an early age, he studied business administration and business law and earned his doctorate at the Vienna University of Technology with a thesis on the sustainable use of resources in hotel real estate. Professional roles in international tourism and strategy consulting broadened his perspective beyond Vienna. Today, he combines academic expertise with hands-on experience—while leading his family’s legacy into the future.
