Insider tips for Berlin from FLOTTWELL BERLIN
Feel the Berlin spirit: sightseeing by bike
Conquer Berlin – by trekking bike!
Berlin is so extensive and offers so many exciting things that one first should get an overview: for our guests, we have created a bike tour map highlighting our four favorite tours. The suitable vehicle can also be rented on site; at the FLOTTWELL BERLIN, four trekking bikes, two e-bikes, and a cargo bike are available.
After the breakfast in your hotel, bike across the green park at Gleisdreieck (=rail triangle) towards Potsdamer Platz, one of the major hubs of the metropolis. We suggest: indulge yourself with a coffee at Panoramacafé and enjoy the spectacular view over Berlin! Then you should pay a visit to the Kulturforum – such a visit could of course take a whole day! Numerous museums, the Berlin Philharmonie, and, for instance, the National Library or the Gemäldegalerie are available.
Sightseeing along the Spree
A visit to Brandenburger Tor, Reichstag, and the German Chancellery is obviously a must. Then you can leisurely bike on the wonderful cycle track along the river towards West Berlin while passing by numerous sights. For lunch, we recommend “Lanninger Restaurant“, directly on the Spree and completely car-free; there you’ll enjoy, beyond fine food, a wonderful atmosphere.
Picturesque Berlin: visiting Charlottenburg Palace
Then continue towards Charlottenburg Palace, which, by the way, owes its name to the early deceased wife of Frederick I. – Sophie Charlotte, Queen in Prussia. The picturesque ensemble comprising palace and garden is absolutely worth a visit. It’s hard to believe that one is still in the midst of the city! Via „Straße des 17. Juni“, finally return to the Zoological Garden. We suggest: don’t miss a coffee break at “Café am Neuen See”, one of Berlin’s most popular beer gardens.
A little rest before Berlin’s nightlife
After the bike tour, there is of course only one goal: back to the hotel and enjoy a little rest in the comfortable rooms of FLOTTWELL BERLIN! After this short break and a little aperitif in our bar, go out for dinner at “P103 Mischkonzern”, directly on Potsdamer Straße. They serve good food and suitable drinks, in addition changing art exhibitions and events. And you may start there into Berlin’s famous nightlife: Potsdamer Straße is one of the most heterogeneous and amazing streets of Berlin and of unique diversity. Those living here say: this street embodies the flair of Berlin.
