Sushi and steak – international specialties in Nuremberg

Atmospheric start of the day

My perfect day starts in a quite atmospheric way: when the weather is fine, I feel like going out for a stroll across old Johannisviertel neighborhood, along Pegnitz River. Between the banks und historic buildings, I discover something new, time after time. To make my morning promenade a perfect one, I pay a visit to this neighborhood’s public gardens. After this sporty activity, I indulge myself an invigorating breakfast at cozy Café Fatal. My very personal suggestion: scrambled eggs with a large milky coffee are outstanding there!

Franconia’s true delights

What would a Nuremberg trip be without a sample of domestic cuisine? No matter whether you prefer a light salad or one of Franconia’s hearty specialties – at Marientorzwinger, any culinary desire will be satisfied. A stay there is especially recommendable with fair weather when you can sit down among variegated people on the old town walls and enjoy the sun.

Alternative program to Coffee & Cake

For the afternoon, I’ve devised something very special: instead of enjoying traditional coffee and cake, I recommend some delicious light Japanese snacks! As a pronounced Sushi fan, I feel like going to legendary Sushi Glas in the afternoon. This location with a first-class reputation offers top quality in a stylish ambiance. It’s exactly the right place for having a short invigorating break between sightseeing and shopping!

Mere idyll: my suggestion for dinner

For a perfect dinner, I recommend a little excursion to the outer northeast of the city: Erlenstegen is a greatly atmospheric, picturesque district of Nuremberg and definitely worth a side-trip. Here I use to indulge myself a juicy piece of meat at Steakhaus Sanders. The dreamlike backdrop in the old half-timbered building and the friendly staff make the evening a very special experience. My suggestion: don’t fail to reserve for dinner since the Steakhaus is a very popular venue!

Perfect day – perfect epilogue

A perfect day should of course have a great conclusion, too. To those wanting to enjoy some Nuremberg flair after dinner I recommend a sundowner at Rote Bar. This popular Cocktail Bar both offers first-class drinks with home-made fruit liquors in addition to true bar classics and a unique historic ambiance in history-charged walls. Those ordering their very personal favorite drink will certainly get it perfectly stirred or shaken! By the way, the Bar converts into a Club on some evenings – with electronic beats deep into the night.
