Your perfect day in Tübingen starts in a sporty way on one of our jogging trails along the plane tree avenue directly on the Neckar river, with a view of the famous Hölderlin Tower. The poet Friedrich Hölderlin lived in this pretty building for 35 years. After such sporty tour, everything tastes even better: enjoy our copious breakfast buffet featuring many regional products, freshly squeezed orange juice, and the best coffee of the city!

Our suggestion: snacks at the marketplace

By noon, Tübingen’s weekly market directly on the Market Square is an absolute must. Here you may taste a bit of all the numerous offers of the local agriculturists and farmers. A piece of cheese, delicious ham served with freshly baked bread, pickled olives, and one or another glass of wine – discover your vacation spot and its surroundings on a culinary level.

Historic Tübingen, quite modern

Tübingen’s strong point: several highlights are within easy walking distance or even side by side. For the afternoon, we recommend an extended stroll across the small lanes of Tübingen’s historic center. Here you’ll find plenty of owner-managed establishments and boutiques where great discoveries are possible, beyond the long-known. Before, afterwards, or in between, some sights should obviously be on your schedule. Stroll along the history-loaded monuments or visit, for instance, a church. When there is still time left, you may pay a visit to the City Museum or the Museum of Ancient Cultures.

City tour by water – and then a delicious dinner

Our suggestion: right before dinner, don’t fail to participate in a short tour on one of our punts on the Neckar river! Embark directly from your hotel and experience Tübingen from the waterside. Subsequently, we’ll receive you either in our atmospheric restaurant Uhlandstube or at LUDWIGS with its charming backyard terrace. We recommend you to finally pay a visit to Tübingen’s “Zimmertheater”, a very small theater with an imposing vault and a nice little bar. Should you prefer some relaxation at the end of an eventful day, our City Spa and our roof terrace invite you to relax!
