Experiences for all senses: my tip for the morning

Enjoy your breakfast at our hotel with freshly brewed coffee, cappuccino or latte macchiato, homemade cakes, fresh fruit salad, bread from one of the best local bakers, sausage specialties from the local butcher, crispy fried bacon and fresh scrambled eggs as well as a great selection of salads and raw vegetables and much more. Right across from our hotel lies the local recreation area meadow Wöhrder Wiese and lake Wöhrder See. Explore the area on foot or with our free-of-charge bicycles. In summer, you can enjoy the best Franconian beer in the Wiesn beer garden and relax at the sandy beach. For families, I‘d highly recommend visiting the „Field of Experiences for the Senses“ on the Wöhrder Wiese.

Original Nuremberg specialties for lunch

To experience Nuremberg you must try Franconian cuisine. Just minutes from the hotel you can enjoy Franconian and Polish specialties in the Kopernikus beer garden, directly on the historic city wall, during summer. In winter, enjoy wine and dine in the associated restaurant Krakauer Turm.

Sightseeing tour in the afternoon

Enjoy a walk through the old town – from the main market, pass by the fountain Schöner Brunnen where you may turn the golden ring to enhance your good luck, then go up to the Imperial Castle Kaiserburg with its beautiful park, the Burggarten. From there you´ll have a great view over Nuremberg! The route leads back down on the Weißgerbergasse (the largest ensemble of Nuremberg’s old craftsman houses) and the bridge Kettensteg as well as the flea market to the shopping streets Kaiserstraße, Karolinenstraße and Breite Gasse. Pay the museum Germanisches Nationalmuseum a visit – it is the largest museum of cultural history in Germany. The State Museum for Art and Design is also very worthwhile. Afterwards, try the Japanese restaurant Kokoro: have a snack or coffee and let your eyes wander over the museum and square Klarissenplatz.

Authentic Franconian cuisine: my tip for dinner

The oldest sausage kitchen in the world (since 1419) Zum Guldenen Stern offers the best Franconian sausages. A wider variety of food and equally unique ambience is found in the very typical restaurant Albrecht-Dürer-Stube, situated in a centuries-old half-timbered house. Before going there, try a delicious aperitif or in winter a mulled wine at the bar Wanderer vis-a-vis.

Theater or bar hopping in the evening

Theater lovers should spend an evening at Staatstheater Nuremberg with its extensive program: choose from opera, play, ballet and concert. My personal favorite are the performances in the Bluebox. Cap off the evening with a drink in one of the many bars in the street Innere Laufer Gasse not far from the hotel such as Bar Europa.
