Why Helvig Eva Kanduth became a hotelier? She answers with disarming openness: “Because I first fell in love with my husband, the then new owner of the Sandwirth“ – and some years later, with the homonymous traditional house, too. Here, Helvig Eva and her husband are putting into practice their vision of a modern hotel exuding 300 years of history. The most beautiful thing in her profession, the host says, are diversity and the broad range of tasks. “In this profession, I become quickly aware of social evolutions and trends – and can, or must, react on them. It’s very exciting!“, Helvig Eva states. When she is not busy in her hotel, she likes to get inspired, away on travel or right on her own doorstep, by new recipes and concepts, other hotels, cultures, and spices. And what if she had not become a hotelier? Then “at least an ever-loving mummy of four kids!“
